Wijnne Barends offers storage and transhipment facilities in Archangelsk in cooperation with Boreal, a Russian company. The most commonly handled cargoes in this versatile harbour includes containers, pulp and paper, wood, building materials, chemicals, fertiliser and bulk.  With a modern infrastructure system, the harbour can handle up to 4.5 million tons of goods annually.  It also offers a large and modern container terminal.

The harbour is accessible all year. Ice conditions are comparable to those in the Gulf of Finland.

The Archangelsk harbour can handle ships with a draught of up to 9.5 metres and a length of up to 200 metres. This enables the loading and unloading of both smaller 2500 – 3000 DWT ships and many 20000 – 22000 DWT ships.

There are about 50 cranes with a lifting capacity varying from 5 to 40 tons as well as a floating crane with a lifting capacity of up to 100 tons. SSmaller mobile lifting units with lifting capacities between 1.5 and 25 tons are also available.

With no less than three stops on the Northern Railways, waiting times in the harbour are kept down to a minimum.
