Wijnne Barends also has an intermodal transhipment centre in Farmsum. The centre offers a storage capacity of 40,000 square metres, of which 25,000 square metres are sheltered. The unit along Eemskanaal has a quay length of 80 metres and can facilitate ships of up to 115 metres long, 15.5 metres wide and with a 5 metre draught.
